In 2015 the Maternal, Adolescent, Reproductive & Child Health Centre (MARCH),London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), launched a massive open-access online course (MOOC) to democratize access to the latest learning on women and children’s health. This MOOC is delivered over six weeks, synthesizing evidence through the life course for (1) Adolescent, (2) Reproductive, (3) Maternal, (4) Newborn and (5) Child health. Each session provides the newest data on epidemiology, effectiveness and current debates with policy, program and research implications for the SDG-era. The final session (week 6) highlights the realities of a life course approach, centered on girls and women, in order to integrate program implementation, including scientific thinking on inter-generational outcomes. This MOOC uses online multi-media active learning methods and is free of charge (apart from an optional certificate of completion). The skills sessions will be presented by MARCH Centre members who are world-leading researchers and educators.
