Helping Mothers and Babies Survive: Threatened Preterm Birth Care Training Module

Presenter: Lindsay Grenier, USAID’s Maternal and Child Survival Program/Jhpiego

New WHO guidelines to be published July 2015 address antenatal care for threatened preterm birth: a new care paradigm for many countries. To support uptake of these new guidelines, threatened preterm birth care is the topic of a new Helping Babies Survive (HBS) training module.  Module materials will be presented including the Threatened Preterm Birth Care Action Plan; Gestational Age Estimation job aid, instructional flipchart, and providers’ guide.   Discussion will include various ways these clinical training materials can be used within a wider implementation strategy to improve and uptake threatened preterm birth care.
